OVO Arena Wembley opened in 1934 as the Empire Pool, originally built as a swimming venue for the British Empire Games. With a capacity of up to 12,500, it sits between large stadium shows and smaller theatre-style events — a favourite for international sport, live music, comedy and entertainment tours alike.
Through the decades it became Wembley Arena, then The SSE Arena, Wembley, before adopting its current name following a naming rights deal in 2022. For sport, it’s best known as the long-time home of the PDC World Darts Championship, alongside boxing, MMA, basketball and exhibition events.
