⚠️ Read this before you pick a stand
Silverstone sells two very different things and they use the same stand names. A reserved grandstand ticket gets you an allocated seat in that specific stand for qualifying and race day, plus roving access to every grandstand on Friday. A General Admission ticket has no allocated seat at all — it lets you rove into a fixed list of stands, and that list changes between Friday and the weekend. The map above shows the General Admission list. Check which ticket you are buying before you fall in love with a view.

Buying General Admission for a specific stand
General Admission never guarantees a seat anywhere. If you have set your heart on Becketts or the pit straight for race day, a roving ticket will not get you there — the stand you want may be full by the time you arrive, and four of the nine roving stands are Friday-only anyway.

Mixing up the A and B stands
Abbey A and Abbey B sit next to each other, as do Hamilton Straight A and B — but on a General Admission ticket the A/B pairs are open on different days. Abbey A and Hamilton Straight B are the Saturday and Sunday stands; Abbey B and Hamilton Straight A are Friday. Check the letter, not just the corner name.

Silverstone lists the Friday roving stands as covered and the Saturday and Sunday ones as uncovered. On a General Admission ticket that means the two days most people care about are the two days you are out in the open. A British August is a British August — pack for it, or book a reserved seat in a covered stand.

Vale is the best pick if you specifically want to see overtaking, and Village A has the strongest atmosphere. What is a roving grandstand at Silverstone?
Roving means unreserved — you can sit in any listed grandstand on a first-come, first-served basis rather than having an allocated seat. Is General Admission good enough for the British MotoGP?
For a first visit, yes — it is genuinely good value and lets you sample several corners rather than committing to one. It includes the main stage entertainment, the fanzones and Silverstone Museum. The catch is that nothing is guaranteed, so arrive early on race day if you want a grandstand seat. If you are travelling a long way for one specific view, buy reserved instead.
Why are Luffield and Woodcote B not on the map?
The map shows the grandstands a General Admission ticket can rove into. Luffield and Woodcote B are sold as reserved grandstands only, so they are not part of that roving list — but they are available to buy as allocated seats for qualifying and race day, with roving access everywhere on Friday like any other reserved ticket.
When is the 2026 British MotoGP at Silverstone?
The Qatar Airways British Grand Prix MotoGP runs from 7 to 9 August 2026 at Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire — practice on Friday, qualifying and sprint on Saturday, and the Grand Prix on Sunday. Single-day Sunday tickets are sold alongside full weekend tickets.
