By Tube

🚇 South Kensington
Piccadilly
Circle
District
The best Tube option for the Royal Albert Hall. Exit onto Thurloe Place, turn right onto Exhibition Road heading north, then left onto Prince Consort Road and right onto Kensington Gore — the Hall is straight ahead. Around 10–12 minutes on foot.
⏱ 10–12 min walk · ⚠️ No step-free access at this station
💡 South Kensington gets very busy post-show — consider walking east to Gloucester Road instead to board from a less congested platform

🚇 High Street Kensington
Circle
District
A useful alternative if you’re travelling from west London. Exit onto Kensington High Street and walk east to the Hall — roughly 10–15 minutes, passing good pre-show dining options along the way.
⏱ 10–15 min walk · ⚠️ No step-free access at this station
💡 Tends to be quieter than South Kensington immediately post-show — a good return option for westbound travellers

🚇 Gloucester Road
Piccadilly
Circle
District
A longer walk at around 15 minutes but the best option post-show. Head north on Gloucester Road then left onto Kensington Gore. The extra 5 minutes walking gives South Kensington crowds time to clear and you’ll board from a far less congested platform.
⏱ 14–16 min walk · ⚠️ No step-free access at this station
💡 The best-kept secret for leaving the RAH — most fans head straight to South Ken. Walk this way instead and you’ll be on a train in minutes

♿ Step-free access via Tube
None of the three nearest Tube stations offer step-free access from street to train. The best step-free option is to take the Elizabeth line to Green Park (which is fully step-free) and then catch the number 9 bus directly to the Hall from there.

Post-show exit strategy

South Kensington sees heavy congestion immediately after events. Most fans head there by default — which means most fans queue. Here are three better options:
Option 1 — Walk to Gloucester Road (~15 min)
The best option for avoiding post-show queues. The extra 5-minute walk compared to South Kensington means you’ll board from a far less crowded platform. Worth it every time for busy events.
Option 2 — Walk to High Street Kensington (~12 min)
Best if you’re heading west. A similar distance to South Ken but with a completely different crowd — most RAH attendees don’t think to use this station after events.
Option 3 — Wait 15–20 minutes
If you don’t want to walk, a drink or a stroll around the Albert Memorial nearby while the crowds clear means you’ll walk straight onto a train at South Kensington.
