The London circuit — ExCeL
London’s race is genuinely unlike anywhere else on the calendar — part indoor circuit inside the ExCeL halls, part outdoor dockside circuit. Tight corners, low grip transitions and heavy braking zones make it one of the most technical tracks in Formula E.
The lap starts indoors on a smooth, grippy surface, exits onto a strip of slippery metal, then heads outside onto highly abrasive asphalt around the exhibition centre before a flowing run of chicanes and a return into the main hall to finish.
⚡ Last chance to see it here
Formula E’s new Gen4 car can’t run on this circuit, so the championship is moving London’s race to Brands Hatch, with the first race there confirmed for 29-30 May 2027. 2026 is the final E-Prix at ExCeL.
Getting to ExCeL
ExCeL is one of the best-connected venues in London — the Elizabeth Line and DLR both serve it directly via Custom House and Prince Regent stations. Public transport is faster and easier than driving on race days.
What to Expect
Formula E in London feels more like a festival than a traditional race weekend — live music, simulator zones, an international food court and large indoor spaces make it one of the most comfortable live motorsport events in the UK. You don’t need deep motorsport knowledge to enjoy it; many first-time attendees rate it better than expected, particularly for atmosphere and accessibility.
