EURO 2028 transport guide: every venue from London
Nine stadiums in eight cities will host EURO 2028. From London, seven venues can be reached by direct intercity rail followed by a walk or short local connection. Dublin requires a flight or rail-and-ferry journey. This guide uses current routes for early planning; exact 2028 timetables and tournament services are not yet available.

Wembley Stadium
EURO 2028 matches: four group games, one quarter-final, both semi-finals and the final.
Best stations:
- Wembley Park: Jubilee and Metropolitan lines; the main ceremonial approach to the stadium.
- Wembley Stadium: Chiltern Railways from London Marylebone; the closest rail station.
- Wembley Central: Bakerloo line, London Overground and National Rail; a longer walk than Wembley Park or Wembley Stadium.
For many central London visitors, the Jubilee or Metropolitan line to Wembley Park is the simplest option. Marylebone to Wembley Stadium can be fast, but train frequency and post-event boarding controls matter more than the normal journey time.
After the match: follow the colour-coded station signs and steward instructions. You may not be sent back through the same station you used on arrival.
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
EURO 2028 matches: four group games and one round-of-16 match.
- White Hart Lane: about a five-minute walk; served by London Overground.
- Northumberland Park: about a ten-minute walk; National Rail services.
- Tottenham Hale: Victoria line and National Rail; about a 25-minute walk.
- Seven Sisters: Victoria line and London Overground; about a 30-minute walk.
A common route is London Liverpool Street to White Hart Lane. Supporters arriving through King’s Cross or Euston can use the Victoria line towards Seven Sisters or Tottenham Hale, then walk or connect as directed. White Hart Lane, Northumberland Park and Tottenham Hale offer step-free access to platforms; Seven Sisters is not step-free.
National Stadium of Wales, Cardiff
EURO 2028 matches: opening match, three further group games, one round-of-16 match and one quarter-final.
Recommended route: direct train from London Paddington to Cardiff Central. The stadium is in the city centre, around a five-minute walk from the station.
This is one of the easiest non-London venues to reach. The complication comes after major events, when Cardiff Central commonly operates a managed queue. For a 20:00 local kick-off, an overnight stay is safer than relying on the final London service.
Villa Park, Birmingham
EURO 2028 matches: three group games and one round-of-16 match.
Recommended route: London Euston to Birmingham New Street, then a local train to Witton or Aston.
- Witton: normally the closest station to the stadium.
- Aston: a useful alternative, generally around a 15-minute walk.
Leave time to change platforms at Birmingham New Street. On the return, crowd-management plans may split supporters between stations or hold queues outside them.
Manchester City Stadium
EURO 2028 matches: four group games and one round-of-16 match.
Recommended route: London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly, then the Ashton-under-Lyne Metrolink line to Etihad Campus. The tram ride from the city centre is normally short, but queues can be substantial after a sell-out event.
Walking from Piccadilly is possible for confident walkers, but allow around 25–35 minutes and follow tournament routing. If England qualify directly, their first group match is scheduled here on 10 June 2028.
Everton Stadium, Liverpool
EURO 2028 matches: four group games and one round-of-16 match.
Recommended route: London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street, then follow the event-specific connection announced for the waterfront stadium.
Current Everton matchday arrangements use Sandhills as a key interchange, with shuttle buses and road closures supporting stadium access. The final EURO 2028 operating plan may differ, so do not assume a normal Premier League matchday route will remain unchanged.
The stadium is north of Liverpool city centre at Bramley-Moore Dock. Build in generous time for the last local connection and the return to Lime Street.
St James’ Park, Newcastle
EURO 2028 matches: four group games and one round-of-16 match.
Recommended route: direct train from London King’s Cross to Newcastle Central. St James’ Park is unusually central: walk through the city centre or use the Tyne and Wear Metro to St James.
The walk from Newcastle Central is roughly 15–20 minutes for most visitors. A same-day return can work for an afternoon match, but a 20:00 kick-off makes an overnight stay the sensible plan.
Hampden Park, Glasgow
EURO 2028 matches: four group games, one round-of-16 match and one quarter-final.
Recommended route: direct train from London Euston to Glasgow Central, followed by a local train to Mount Florida or King’s Park. Both stations are a short walk from Hampden.
Even a smooth London–Glasgow rail journey takes most of the day once local transfers are included. Plan at least one night in Glasgow. If Scotland qualifies directly, all three of its group matches are scheduled at Hampden.
Dublin Arena

By air
Direct flights operate from several London airports to Dublin. The flight itself is short, but airport travel, security, the transfer into central Dublin and possible border formalities mean this is not a quick stadium-to-stadium trip. From the city centre, DART trains serve Lansdowne Road beside the stadium.
By rail and ferry
The lower-flight option is London Euston to Holyhead, ferry to Dublin and local transport to the stadium. Through “Rail & Sail” tickets may be available, but the complete journey is long and disruption on one leg can affect the rest.
Important: the Republic of Ireland is in the Common Travel Area but is not part of the UK. International visitors should check that their immigration permission covers both countries; a UK visa or electronic travel authorisation does not automatically grant entry to Ireland.
When should you stay overnight?

- Wait for the final draw before booking non-refundable team-specific travel.
- Compare singles, returns and flexible fares rather than assuming an advance ticket is always best.
- Check whether the last train still works after extra time and a 60–90-minute station queue.
- Reserve accessible assistance with the operator once the final timetable is published.
- Use the official venue and local transport pages in the week of the match.
- Do not drive to the stadium unless official parking is specifically offered.

Can I reach every EURO 2028 venue from London by train?
You can reach every British host city by rail. Dublin can also be reached using train and ferry, but flying is normally quicker.
Which non-London stadium is easiest as a day trip?
Cardiff’s stadium is beside Cardiff Central, while Villa Park is a short local rail connection from Birmingham New Street. Both are the strongest day-trip options.
Will there be special EURO 2028 trains?
Tournament transport plans have not been published. Extra or later services may be announced, but supporters should not rely on them until confirmed.
