The ICC World Test Championship Final returns to The Oval in London from Wednesday 9 to Sunday 13 June 2027, bringing together the two best Test nations from the 2025-27 cycle for the most prestigious showpiece in the longest format of the sport. England has secured the hosting rights for the next three WTC Finals — 2027, 2029 and 2031 — and The Oval was selected by the ECB after its successful staging of the 2023 Final, when Australia defeated India to lift the mace in front of a sold-out south London crowd. The 2027 edition carries additional significance as cricket marks 150 years of Test match history, placing this Final at the intersection of the sport’s modern prestige format and its deepest historical roots. The race to qualify remains open across multiple teams, with Australia sitting at the top of the standings and South Africa defending the title they won at Lord’s in 2025 — but New Zealand, Bangladesh and India all retain strong prospects of making the final eight months out. The Oval is one of the world’s great cricket grounds, with a capacity of around 25,500 and an atmosphere on major match days that combines the traditions of a historic London venue with the energy of a neutral-venue international final. Kennington Oval station on the Northern line sits directly opposite the ground, with Vauxhall on National Rail and Victoria line also within easy walking distance. Tickets are not yet on sale; check the ECB and ICC websites for announcements. StubHub and Viagogo will list resale availability closer to the event.
