⚡ 2027 marks 150 years of The Championships
Ticket competition is intensifying every year across both official sales and resale platforms, and the 150th-anniversary edition is expected to push demand even higher. Expect earlier sell-outs, heavier queue demand and increased pressure on transport and accommodation around south-west London during the tournament — especially if British players make deep runs.
Four ways to get in

The public ballot
Opens months before the tournament. Successful applicants get the chance to purchase tickets for specific courts and days — the main official route for most fans.

The Queue
Same-day, on-site tickets — unique among major sporting events. A limited number released every single day of The Championships.

Hospitality
Premium packages with guaranteed seats, usually on Centre Court or No.1 Court. Significantly more expensive, but certainty is the trade-off.

The resale kiosk
If Centre Court or No.1 Court holders leave early, their seats are resold inside the grounds — a legitimate upgrade route for anyone holding a ground pass.
How to get Wimbledon 2027 tickets now

Public Ballot: now closed
Applications for 2027 opened on 1 September 2026 and closed on 14 September 2026. Successful applicants are told by email from October 2026 onwards, so check your inbox and junk folder. Ballot tickets are non-transferable.

LTA Advantage ballot
The LTA runs a separate ballot for eligible LTA Advantage members, and you can enter both. The opt-in window for 2027 closed on 31 August 2026.

Official Wimbledon resale
Ballot and Queue tickets cannot be sold on. The only legitimate resale is Wimbledon’s own ticket resale scheme inside the grounds, where show-court seats returned by ticket holders are sold to guests already on site.

Debentures
Centre Court and No.1 Court debenture tickets are the only Wimbledon tickets that can legally be bought and sold on the open market. Tickets from any unauthorised seller are not valid and may be cancelled.

💡 The hybrid strategy experienced visitors use
Step 1: enter with a ground pass. Step 2: watch outside-court matches in the morning. Step 3: monitor the resale kiosk. Step 4: upgrade to Centre Court in the afternoon. This avoids overpaying while still delivering show-court tennis later in the day.
Beyond Centre Court
The grounds experience extends well beyond the show courts. The Hill lets fans watch Centre Court matches on a giant screen in a relaxed, garden-party atmosphere — even without a show-court ticket, the grounds alone can justify the visit.
