Ascot station, a 7-minute walk from the racecourse. South Western Railway runs direct trains from London Waterloo that take about 52 minutes on average, and also serves Ascot from Reading and Aldershot. Oyster and contactless cards are not valid to or from Ascot station, so buy a ticket in advance.

Which enclosure should I choose at Royal Ascot?

At Royal Ascot, picnics are only allowed in the Windsor Enclosure, and nothing can be brought into the Royal, Queen Anne or Village enclosures. Bags are searched on entry at the gates, so travel light.
