The O2 sits on its own peninsula in Greenwich, and almost every route in funnels through one station — North Greenwich, right on the doorstep. It is also one of the few London venues you can reach by river. This guide ranks every way to get to The O2 Arena, how to leave fast, and the step-free options.

The O2 transport — fares and routes re-checked
Tube — North Greenwich, Jubilee line, Zone 2/3. TfL lists it as a boundary station, so the fare depends on the direction you travel in from.
River — North Greenwich Pier is in the Uber Boat by Thames Clippers Central zone. Contactless/Oyster pay as you go is £9.90 off-peak and £11.90 peak.
Book ahead — a Central-zone adult single is £11.70 online or in the app against £16.40 bought at the pier.
The river route is the one where planning ahead actually saves money: buying at the pier on the night is the most expensive way to do it. Note that the current Oyster and contactless river fares are set to run until 31 October 2026, with revised fares issued after that date — so if you are booking a late-2026 event, re-check before you travel. The cable car is a separate ticket that is not included in your Tube fare, and TfL advertises up to 30% off for booking in advance rather than paying at the terminal.

Why the fare detail matters here: The O2 is one of the few London venues with a genuine choice of arrival modes, and the cheapest is not always the obvious one. The Jubilee line remains the fastest and most reliable route and is step-free from street to platform, but on a sold-out night the river gives you a boarding queue instead of a crowd crush, for roughly the price of a couple of Tube journeys if you book online. Both beat driving once you factor in the exit queue from the on-site car parks.
