Corinthian Roof Terrace & Legends Lounge — West side
Premium hospitality · Top of the western stand
The Oval’s best-known hospitality spaces, sitting atop the ground’s largest western stand. The Corinthian Roof Terrace offers dual-aspect views — pitch on one side, London skyline on the other. Legends Lounge sits just above it, on the third floor, next to the TV studios and commentary boxes.
Bedser Stand — North side
Named for Sir Alec Bedser · Side-on view
A traditional side stand directly opposite the Pavilion, giving a square, side-on view of the whole pitch — the position that best rewards following field placements and tactics over a full day’s play.
Laker & Lock Balcony — East side
Restricted angle · Corner seating
Upper-tier balcony sections on the site of the old Lock/Laker Stand. The angle here is progressively more end-on the further round you go — Laker is workable, Lock is the most acute corner at the ground. Both are budget-friendly, neither is the pick for a square view of play.
Micky Stewart Pavilion — South side
Pavilion End · Behind the bowler’s arm
The Oval’s historic heart, home to the Long Room and largely reserved for Surrey Members on matchdays. The Pavilion End viewing angle — behind the bowler’s arm — is the classic position for reading a delivery.
1845 Terrace — South-west corner
Named for the club’s founding year · Value pick
A standard-tier terrace on the corner between the Pavilion End and the western stand — a sensible, affordable option with a workable, slightly angled view.
What to avoid
⚠️ Lock Balcony’s outermost rows — the sharpest corner angle at the ground. Fine for a cheap ticket and the occasion, not for closely following play at the far end.
⚠️ Very low front rows — a slight elevation above pitch level makes it much easier to read field placements over a full day’s cricket.
