The Den
Home of Millwall FC
🏟️ The Den Local Guide
The Den is a 20,146-capacity football stadium in Bermondsey, South London, and the home of Millwall FC. Opened in 1993, it was the first new all-seater football stadium built in London after the Taylor Report and remains one of the most atmospheric and intimidating venues in English football. Its compact design and passionate fanbase create a matchday experience unlike any other in the capital.
📝 History of The Den
The current Den replaced the original stadium of the same name, located just half a mile away in New Cross. The old Den served Millwall from 1910 to 1993 and was famous for its intense atmosphere. The new ground was designed for safety and comfort while maintaining that same closeness between players and supporters. Since moving, The Den has hosted Championship, FA Cup, and League Cup ties, as well as international fixtures and community events. Over the years, it’s become a symbol of South London resilience and identity.
